It is a known fact that FS oil is more stable and fine slippery oil compared to the same grade of Mineral oil.It is one of the reason that during an engine break in time, FS is not recommended, since it will not allow the engine parts to wear and seat with each other to give good mating of parts.
Apart from machining tolerance, the choice of material also plays an important role in selection of engine oil..So an engine oil selection is the culmination of many factors best known to the designer and manufacturer...
I use Diesel oil in my Karizma-R of a specific manufacturer ,grade, and spec, after going through the MSDS of the oil . Still it was an experiment, and I must say I was lucky to get the benefits of the Additive package in the oil, and the oil suited the engine well...A few other owners of ZMA/ZMR have tried the same with very good results, and so continue to use it....
It is always good to stick to what the Designer/Manufacturer recommends , and if you want to experiment....remember " Your experiment, Your Risk".

Guys, my Apache is making screeching noise from the front wheel. I can hear it while i ride the bike at speeds <30 Km/hr.
          Any idea what's the culprit?

Mostly the disc and the brake pads are dirty. Try cleaning the disc first and check if the sound reduces. You might have to remove the brake pads and clean them to fully remove the noise.

Tvs tru4 oil is a ss oil I think, I looked at it and it says its a ss oil of 10w 30 grade.

Correct me if I am wrong.

TRU4 is a SS ,commonly mistaken for a Mineral oil..

                    hello guys
completed 10k km last week and got the 1 paid service done.

the service guy didn't changed the Spark plug
                    nor cleaned the carburetor

he just cleaned the air filter, replaced the oil filter and oil gave it a wash and returned to me. Simply saying(bhai jaisa manual mai likha h vaise service krenge toh kaun service karaiga)

The Acceleration of bike had reduced (can feel that)
also top end had reduced drastically it isn't going above 110 with a pillion
for milage it returns me 34 (without ripping)

                    Another problem i might think
when i put my bike on centre stand and rotated the rear wheel
i heard kut kut kut.. kut noice (damm sure it was not of chain)

the rear brake works like a drum brake
the front one like discover's disk

You are right Rahul. My bad I keep forgetting that
Anyways the only reason I suggested him to stick to Tru4 or other mineral oil is because the oil change interval is frequent in the first few thousand kms and other semi synthetic oils (eg Motul 5100) can last more than 3000kms easily.

had complained already on phone between my free services and yes got a call from service manager too but that is not going to work, as every time
i take my bike to svc a mechanic checks it and says everything is fine

We all want our bikes to be perfect and not just running. From this forum I learnt that big problems start with small defects and those mechanics always try
to manipulate us by saying everything is fine.

i m not the one who can tell them what is wrong but i m the one who can feel that something is wrong which they dont understand.

just want to get helped by you all to know what exactly the problem is and then getting it fixed by some local mechanic or claiming it to svc.

@Devesh : You called the SVC manager? Or on the toll free number.
If I know correct, whenever I complained the mail reaches the head of service of that region and then they pass on the message to the svc in question. During my complaint I was so agitated that I called the Northern Head of Service to the showroom and told him what happened.
Its India, thats how they work. They need a "bambooo"

                                Update on my Bike

Went to the svc to get all things checked. I rode 1000kms and the oil was in between 200-300ml.One way clutch will be changed. Piston rod is having play, quite a big one this time. Things to be changed/repaired
Whole cylinder assembly,Clutch Plates, front fork seal, rear shocks, disc pads, Timing Chain, Rocker Arm,Leg Guard etc etc.
Estimated amount Rs11500, might get it reduced by few thousand as per mechanic.

I know I am spending too much on it, but I need to do Leh on this and then it would be on sale. Selling it right now would have meant depreciated value and loss for me, thats why too the decision of getting everything in working condition, atleast for the last few months of its life.
